Pierre Capati

What is your full name?

Pierre Capati.

What is your first name?

Pierre.

Where were you born?

Manila, Philippines.

Where do you currently reside and work?

Manila, Philippines.

What is your educational background?

I graduated with a BS in Advertising Management from De La Salle University-Manila.

What are other details of experiences, work or otherwise, that have led you to your current work?

Before pursuing my floral work full-time, I had a 12-year stint in marketing and media for a few conglomerates in the Philippines. Through the years, I have been privileged to travel the world and be exposed to different cultures and ways of life. I enjoyed documenting these trips, and it allowed me to deepen my relationship with photography. As the COVID-19 pandemic happened in 2020 and we were all stuck at home, I used the time to document my day-to-day living, and flowers became my main subject. Everything was instinctive until I started to explore more possibilities in arranging and photographing my floral work. To this day, the intersectionality between flowers and photography continues to shape the way I craft and present my work.

How would you describe your practice/business?

I am a self-taught floral artist. My style is free-flowing, which relies heavily on instinct. I treat my floral practice as a vessel to showcase and strengthen our culture through the intentional usage of native and endemic florals. Over the last three years, I have enjoyed collaborating with fashion and lifestyle boutiques in Manila. This work allows me to elevate the use of flowers beyond mere decor, but as an integral piece of a space that communicates the experience a brand wants to convey.

What are the highlight projects in your career so far?

In 2023, I participated in the A Blank Slate group exhibition by The Empty Scholar at Kondwi in Makati. In September 2025, Vogue Philippines asked me to create floral installation pieces for the annual Vogue Threads Manila.

What are you currently working on?

As I just started doing this full-time this October, I plan to go back to my roots and do more photographic floral work in the coming months. On the side, I am planning to do more collaborations and large-scale installations in Manila and other parts of the Philippines.
