What is your full name?
Luong Thu Lan.
What is your first name?
Xisann.
Where were you born?
Thai Binh, Vietnam.
Where do you currently reside and work?
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
What is your educational background?
I majored in Economics at the National Economics University in Hanoi.
What are other details of experiences, work or otherwise, that have led you to your current work?
Although I studied economics, I started out selling fashion products and had the opportunity to style my own product shoots. This gradually led me to organise my own photoshoots and to develop my career as a stylist.
How would you describe your practice/business?
I am a fashion stylist with a strong interest in visual storytelling and creative expression through fashion. My practice focuses on developing distinctive concepts and translating ideas into styling, imagery and fashion narratives. I enjoy experimenting with different aesthetics, materials and silhouettes to create meaningful visual identities. Through my work, I aim to express my individuality and the qualities that reflect my inner self.
What are the highlight projects in your career so far?
The first is a personal project inspired by Vietnamese street culture, which transforms everyday objects and familiar cultural symbols into fashion pieces. Materials and elements such as bamboo chicken cages, motorcycle exhaust pipes and eagle prints are reinterpreted through styling to create distinctive looks that reflect the raw, unconventional spirit of Vietnam’s streets.
The second is an editorial for ELLE Vietnam’s April 2026 Green Issue, focusing on sustainability in fashion. The project featured Vietnamese fashion brands committed to environmental responsibility, sustainable practices and recycling, highlighting how creative styling can promote a more conscious approach to fashion.
What are you currently working on?
I am excited to develop a personal project inspired by my childhood dreams.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I grew up in a small city in Vietnam where the fashion scene was still emerging, but I dreamt of becoming a fashion designer from an early age. Through my upcoming projects, I hope to bring that childhood dream to life, translating my memories, aspirations and personal journey into fashion pieces.
