Kanjanapat Chaichalomewong

What is your full name?

Kanjanapat Chaichalomewong.

What is your first name?

AMP.

Where were you born?

Samutprakarn, Thailand.

Where do you currently reside and work?

Bangkok, Thailand.

What is your educational background?

I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design Major in Decorative Arts from Silpakorn University.

What are other details of experiences, work or otherwise, that have led you to your current work?

I began by interning and working as a stylist, contributing to a variety of projects along the way. After gaining a solid understanding of how production sets operate, I took on the role of producer. From there, I also worked as a project manager, developing creative direction myself, and as a photographer, building hands-on experience across all of these roles. Through it all, I have remained a full-time designer at my core.

How would you describe your practice/business?

My work begins with my personal interests and the objects I have collected over time. I enjoy experimenting and creating, with a strong focus on the process itself. I choose not to use logos, preferring instead that each piece be remembered for its character and design, and that it finds its wearer naturally. I am also grateful to the craftsmen I collaborate with. Together, we have embraced new challenges and enjoyed the process.

What are the highlight projects in your career so far?

One highlight has been working as a designer for Thai brands over the four years following my graduation. Another is starting Heart.Of.Glass, an honest exploration of turning my personal interests into something I could freely experiment with. More recently, I have found real joy in taking on creative direction for others, expressing their ideas through my own perspective.

What are you currently working on?

I have started planning an exhibition centered around the Heart.Of.Glass brand. There will also be a workshop for those interested in developing their own jewellery pieces, with the key idea of encouraging people to express themselves as makers. I’m very excited—while the vision is not fully refined yet, the feeling is already there. I am hoping it will come together sometime next month. What excites me most is that it will be the first time I get to see and meet the people who are genuinely interested in my brand.

As for the business side, I appreciate that my Heart.Of.Glass brand has never needed to become a large-scale operation focused on volume. I value that people discover and choose the pieces for themselves, rather than through heavy promotion. I prefer this honest, natural approach.
