What is your full name?
Sheryl Yeo.
What is your first name?
Sheryl.
Where were you born?
Singapore.
Where do you currently reside and work?
Singapore.
What is your educational background?
I graduated with a BA in Marketing from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
What are other details of experiences, work or otherwise, that have led you to your current work?
I was an apprentice at a tailoring house in Singapore, known as The Prestigious, for close to two years, which paved the way for my path and learning in fashion, before I stepped out to start my own business.
How would you describe your practice/business?
3EIGHTH was first established in November 2018 as a female-fronted and women-focused tailoring house. It o offers our perspective–and twist–on menswear tailoring, not just for custom commissions, but also through our ready-to-wear collections. Every 3EIGHTH piece is tailored for conversation, with details that will journey with our wearers through an exploration of fabrics, quality, and comfort.
What are the highlight projects in your career so far?
We dressed Becca D'Bus, for a magazine feature in 2019. It was our first big custom commission done for drag.
We launched our first made-to-order collection, called Staples, conceptualised during the COVID period and launched at the end of 2020.
We made our first mark into ready-to-wear in 2024, with our first collection, ARC, highlighting our ethos of blending femininity with menswear tailoring at Boutiques Singapore.
What are you currently working on?
We are currently stewing on the launch of our next collection, and it will further expand our key themes on the intersections of femininity and masculinity, as well as introduce new silhouettes and looks.
In the future, we hope to expand 3EIGHTH into a full universe, where fashion, music, and art intersect and come alive.
