Cyrus.

Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts, Colegio de San Juan de Letran.
What are other details of experiences, work or otherwise, that have led you to your current work?
I worked as a videographer on a cruise ship traveling all around the world. That is where I developed my wanderlust, which fuels my desire to get to know culture through its crafts. After working on the cruise ship, I worked as a soap opera writer for 10 years which honed my storytelling skills.
How would you describe your practice/business?
Studio Siriusdan is a Manila-based multi-disciplinary brand that merges contemporary design with the rich heritage of handwoven textiles from indigenous communities around the world with a strong focus on Filipino weaves. We make furniture, textile art, and clothes using all the fabrics I have bought on my travels. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted, honouring artisanal techniques while creating garments and furniture pieces that feel relevant, timeless, and unique. Studio Siriusdan champions slow fashion, meaningful craftsmanship, and the idea that clothing–and furniture–can be both a style statement and a cultural bridge.
What are the highlight projects in your career so far?
Visiting indigenous communities around the world to witness firsthand how they make their crafts will always be a highlight for me. More specifically, visiting the amazing Tbolis of Lake Sebu in Mindanao, where I experienced first-hand how they create their dream-like Tnalak fabric was a highlight.
What are you currently working on?
We are working on a new collection featuring textiles from across Southeast Asia including Filipino weaves. A Filipino-Japanese-African collection is also in the pipeline.
